Regulation & Inspection

The CQC (Care Quality Commission) are The Independent Regulator of all Health & Social Care Services in England. It is their job to make sure that the Care we provide meets The Government Standards Of Quality & Safety.

At our latest CQC inspection on the 26th March 2019, we improved our ratings with four of the five key areas assessed, rated ‘good’ and just one as ‘requires improvement’. The CQC observed that residents were safe and well cared for and their independence was encouraged and maintained; with comments from our residents including, “It’s a very nice place”, “Staff are very kind” and “It’s lovely here”.

Whilst we continue to be rated ‘requires improvement’, we have already addressed the concerns raised around good governance through: strengthening our senior management team, bringing on-board expertise in this area, enhanced internal staff training, engagement with an independent consultant and continued close collaboration and partnership with West Sussex County Council, to ensure we not only meet standards but excel in this area now and going forward.

Food Hygiene Standards

The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority.

This includes: handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.

We have achieved the highest rating of “5”, which mean our food hygiene standards are very good. This inspection took place in June 2022.
