Regulation & Inspection

The CQC (Care Quality Commission) are The Independent Regulator of all Health & Social Care Services in England. It is their job to make sure that the Care we provide meets The Government Standards Of Quality & Safety.

We are delighted that our last CQC inspection report found Hooklands to be Good in all areas.  This is a reflection of our hard work, high standards and the care our amazing staff give to our wonderful residents to ensure they are happy and well cared for.

The report noted the following points:

People and their relatives were happy with the care they received and felt safe with the staff that were supporting them.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

We continue a close collaboration and partnership with West Sussex County Council to ensure we not only meet standards but excel now and going forward. We are extremely proud of everyone at the SunNest and Hooklands family, including all our residents, staff and families.

Food Hygiene Standards

The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority.

This includes: handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.

We have achieved the highest rating of “5”, which mean our food hygiene standards are very good. This inspection took place in June 2022.
